African participants send greetings to the 2010 Expo organizers

Commissioner generals of African participants, including those of Mauritius, Kenya, Madagascar as well as Africa Union, have recently sent Chinese New Year’s greetings to the 2010 Shanghai Expo organizers. 

They asked in phone calls or mails about the recent developments of pavilion constructions and exhibit item transportations. They also asked about Joint-Africa Pavilion’s promotion, arrangements of events, visitors’ services and commercial operation managements.

The commissioner generals promised that they will spare no efforts in cooperating with 2010 Shanghai Expo organizers in preparing Expo 2010.

2010 Shanghai World Expo Terms and Conditions for Purchasing Individual

A. Purchase Tips

The individual ticket buyers and bearers of Shanghai Expo shall carefully read and comply with Terms and Conditions for Purchasing Individual Tickets and other regulations related to the Expo Tickets released by the Bureau of 2010 Shanghai World Expo Coordination.

B. Ticket Types

1 Individual Tickets of Shanghai Expo include Peak Day Tickets and Standard Day Tickets. The Peak Day Tickets allow the ticket bearers to visit the Expo Park on the Peak Day designated on the ticket or on any Standard Day; and the Standard Day Tickets only allow visits on Standard Day(s).

2 Shanghai Expo will last for 184 days from May 1 to October 31, 2010, of which there are 17 Peak Days: May 1 – May 3, October 1- October 7 and October 25- October 31; and all the other days are Standard Days (167 days in total).

3 Peak Day Tickets refer to Peak Day Single Day Admission and Peak Day Special Admission; and Standard Day Tickets refer to Standard Day Single Day Admission, Standard Day Special Admission, 3 Day Admission, 7 Day Admission and Evening Admission. The application rules and the price will be separately announced by the Organizer.

4 Valid IDs are required upon purchase of Tickets and entry into the Expo Park for people using Peak Day Special Admission and Standard Day Special Admission; and the specific rules will be separately announced by the Organizer.

5 Children at or under 1.2m at time of their admission are allowed to enter the Expo Park free of charge.

C. Sales Channels

1 Ticket buyers shall purchase Tickets via authorized sales channels, including ticket outlets, websites or hotlines, etc.

2 During the running of Shanghai, the Tickets may also be purchased via onsite sales outlets.

3 The Evening Admission can only be purchased via onsite sales outlets.

4. The specific information about authorized sales channels will be separately announced by the Organizer. The risks and liabilities arising from not purchasing Tickets via the authorized sales channels shall be assumed by the ticket buyers.

D. Ticket Purchase

Ticket buyers shall check the ticket types and payment after purchase, and may ask for the receipt with the amount equivalent to the payment.

E. Ticket Preservation

Ticket buyers and bearers shall properly keep the Tickets. The Organizer will not compensate for the loss, theft, damage or destruction of the Tickets.

F. Ticket Refunding

1 Unless otherwise regulated, all Tickets purchased are non-refundable.

2 In the event that Shanghai Expo is cancelled due to reasons on the part of the Organizer, the Organizer shall refund the payment of each ticket based on the actual purchase price via the authorized sales channels.

3 In case the ticket bearer cannot enter the Expo Park due to ticket damage, the ticket bearer may apply for ticket exchange at the onsite sales outlets. The Organizer shall offer a new ticket after verifying the damaged ticket. Specific rules will be separately announced by the Organizer.

G. Obligations of Ticket Bearers

Ticket bearers shall carefully read the notice at the back of the Tickets and comply with other rules and regulations announced by the Organizer.

H. Miscellaneous

1 The Organizer will release relevant ticket information through the ticketing bulletin. People can log on the official website of Shanghai or call the Shanghai Expo hotline for inquiry.

2 Unless otherwise regulated, the exhibitions and events in the Expo Park will not incur additional charge.

3 The Organizer is entitled to interpret and revise the Terms and Conditions, and the new Terms and Conditions shall be released timely after revision.

US pavilion most anticipated in Shanghai World Expo

The United States’ pavilion is the most anticipated foreign country exhibition center in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, a survey has revealed. This is despite the country being one of the last to confirm its participation.
The most anticipated foreign pavilions were ranked in the order of people’s intention to visit. The online survey of 15,000 respondents showed the US topped the list at 48 percent, France next at 38 percent, the United Kingdom at 32 percent, Japan at 32 percent, and South Korea at 28 percent.

Shanghai to offer financial services for World Expo

 Shanghai  will offer high-quality financial services for the upcoming 2010 Shanghai World Expo, and all prepartions were in place to support the financial needs of visitors and participants.

There were two main parts for the Expo’s financial services.One was to ensure convenient and swift credit card payment for ticket purchases, food and boarding, while the other was to provide insurance for participants and items on display.

Russia’s Land Of Giants

Visitors will travel along the path as if in a fairy tale, along the way, they will meet giant foods and plants. The path will move through five sections highlighting progress in different areas of Russia’s development.

Delivering a closing speech at the city’s top legislative, the Party secretary stressed that ensuring safety and security were the most important tasks to guarantee a successful World Expo.

So far, 192 countries and 50 international organizations have confirmed participation in the World Expo 2010 and more than 70 million visitors are expected.

What Locals Really Think About the 2010 Shanghai Expo

The word on Shanghai’s collective lips for the past few years has been “Expo”.
